Earthing and blood thinning medication

Earthing has a blood-thinning effect. If you are taking strong blood-thinning medication, you should consult your doctor and check your blood values during the first few weeks of earthing, until the dose has been adjusted, if necessary. Otherwise, there is a risk of your blood becoming too thin.

Doctors and knowledge about grounding

Since earthing is a relatively new area of research, few doctors are yet familiar with its effects. We recommend that you refer your doctor to www.earthinginstitute.net or the book “Being Grounded” for more information.

Customize the time you are grounded

If you feel worse at the beginning of grounding, start with 1–2 hours per night and gradually increase over two weeks. Sleeping on a grounded sheet is like sleeping directly on the ground, completely natural and harmless. It is simply about re-establishing the body's electrical contact with the earth.

Grounding helps the body restore its electrical balance and at the same time strengthens the immune system.

A warning about the Swedish electricity system

In many countries, grounding can be done via the wall socket, but in Sweden we have historically used what is known as false grounding, where the ground wire is connected to the neutral busbar. This can be directly unhealthy and is therefore not recommended.

The old four-wire TN-C system was used until around 2004. In newer buildings, there is often a five-wire TN-S system, which is safer, but we still do not recommend using the wall socket for grounding.

Instead, use a ground rod or a ground clamp on a water pipe for safe contact with the earth. The earth's free electrons should go directly to the product and your body, just like when you stand barefoot on the earth.

The experiment that confirms the risks

In 2004, I tried grounding myself via the wall outlet in a house built in 1959. Measurements showed 2.2 volts in the outlet's ground, a voltage that shouldn't be there. I assumed it wouldn't affect me since there was no closed circuit.

I was wrong. The first night I couldn't sleep and had diarrhea. The second night the symptoms repeated. The third night I fell asleep from exhaustion, but felt bad for a total of 10 days.

Electricians have confirmed that even newer electrical systems can cause similar reactions. We therefore strongly advise against using the wall outlet ground.

Installation of ground rod

The safest way to ground your products is via a ground rod. Pull the cord out through the nearest window and insert the ground rod into the ground, preferably where it is damp and away from the house wall. If the ground is frozen, pour hot water on the spot or knock the rod down with a hammer. Secure the cord so that no one will trip over it and bury it shallowly.

You can attach the cord with cable clips on wooden facades or with adhesive and hot melt glue on plastered surfaces. Along downspouts, it is fine to use cable ties or tape. The cord will not break if you close the window over it. If you drill a hole to pull the cord in, make sure to seal it properly. The ground wire that comes with the rod is 15 meters long and usually reaches the third floor.

If you live in an apartment building

If you live at a high altitude, you can use a ground clamp on the water supply pipe. Make sure the pipe is metal, scrape off about two centimeters of paint, attach the clamp and plug in the product cord. Tighten by hand. If the pipes are plastic, use a metal part, such as an element.

We are all different.

The effects of grounding may be felt immediately for some, while others may notice results after several weeks. We recommend that you write down a list of symptoms, such as sleep problems, pain, or allergies, before you start and follow up weekly.

If you are going through a period of high stress or illness, it may affect how quickly you notice a difference. But don't give up, regular grounding will yield long-term results.

Drink plenty of water. When grounding, the body often begins a cleansing process, and water helps to transport away waste products. Dry skin can be a sign that you are not drinking enough, and it also leads to poorer circulation.

Check conductivity

To ensure that the grounding products are working properly, go to the “Questions and Answers” page on our website where you will find instructions on how to test the conductivity.

Read all about grounding in the book "Being Grounded"

“Being grounded is a revolutionary breakthrough that will change your life. Read this book, ground yourself, and begin the process of breaking the stress and disease cycle.”
– Martin Gallagher, MD, DC, author of Dr. Gallagher's Guide to 21st Century Medicine

“Being grounded ranks right up there with the discovery of penicillin. This book is probably the most important health reading of the 21st century.”
– Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., CNS

“This inspiring and well-researched book explains the risks we face when we are not in touch with the power and energy of the Earth and its boundless rich source of free electrons. Could many of the diseases, chronic inflammation, poor sleep and more be the result of this? A brilliant hypothesis well-founded in science.”
-Nicholas Perricone, MD Author ofAgeless Face, Ageless Mind”

"A wonderful book. Being grounded is a return to the healing power of nature. Here you have a simple but powerful way to restore your health on all levels, and which is scientifically based and intuitively correct."
-Hyla Cass, MD Author of “8 Weeks to Vibrant Health”

“Being grounded connects us to nature, and nature is the ultimate source of health and healing. This book is a how-to guide to one of nature's greatest healing secrets.”
